IPRODIONE- Pestiticide residues in Paprika and spices and their effects on health and food Safety

The European Spice Association (ESA) has confirmed that for the vast majority of the commodities produced and processed by the spice and paprika industry, there is no risk identified for the human health. The MRL Iprodione (20 mg/kg) used in Capsicum crops is not an exceedance due to the low amount of paprika consumed by humans.

However, El Clarin Spices SL  together with the RASFF Alerts and Notication (ESA ´service) wants to guaranties our customer the control of insect pests as an essential part of chemical protection in paprika cultivation. For this reason, our Quality Team has included this pest analysis in our Product Certifications as one of 300 pesticides guaranteed by El Clarín Spices SL.

We provide weekly information about allerts in food industry in Salmonella, Aflatoxins, Ochratoxins, pesticides and of course, since June 2018 about Iprodione pesticide.
