EL CLARIN AT ALCALÁ DEL JÚCAR CASTLE (ALBACETE, SPAIN): DECORATION AND HISTORY

Last weekend, what was planned as a tourist route through the Sierra de La Manchuela with a visit to the town of Alcalá del Júcar, Albacete (Spain) turned out to be a pleasant surprise for El Clarín Spice. How wonderful it is to see how far our paprika has come and is able of going!
Well, during the visit of our colleague from the Administration Department to Alcalá del Júcar Castle and the town’s typical cave houses, she discovered a metal tin of “El Clarín” as decoration.
The cave house recreated in the castle represents 20th-century folklore scenes and how the different rooms were decorated. While visiting the store room, she discovered some metal tins of paprika, including one from our company. This is a metal tin from “El Clarín” dating back to the 1940s or 1950s, which third-generation descendants have been unable to recognize due to its age. The tin is screen-printed with the logo of the angel riding an eagle and playing the bugle and was used to package a paprika-based spice mix.
This isn’t the first time we have had a surprise of this kind, as we have previously seen our packaging used as decoration films (“Dolor y gloria” by Pedro Almodóvar), television series (“El tiempo entre costuras” based on the novel by María Dueñas), and now, a traditional recreation that demonstrates our connection with popular history and traditional Spanish cuisine.
